The latest news for the 2019/2020 season

Although their season ended at the end of last week, the management and staff of the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum are not on holiday, but just opposite, they have been still working hard on preparing guest visits to the summer festivals and the new projects for the next season. After a short business trip to Osijek, Andreja Rackov, the General Manager of the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum and the Opera and Ballet Artistic Director, announced one more co-production in the next season - operetta The Merry Widow by Franz Lehár is to be prepared with the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek. The premiere of this co-production is expected in March 2020. CNT Osijek is to have a guest visit with its opera Carmen on our Large Stage in the next season. The premiere of the play Comrades by August Strinberg is planned for the second part of the season as well.

Another guest visit of the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum in the season 2019/2020 is confirmed - at the invitation of the Russian Union of Theatre Artists, Madlenianum is invited to perform at Yuri Polyakov’s theatre festival Watching. The festival will be held from November 2 to November 13, 2019 at the Vishnyk Theatre in Moscow. Madlenianum will perform with the comedy The Briefcase by Yuri Polyakov, premiered on April 12, 2019.
