Vesna Rezic, set designer, was born in Split in 1974. After her high school graduation in the Language school in Split, diploma from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Macerata in Italy, attendance of stage for film and television set design with the Association of Set Designers (ASCA) in Rome, invaluable work in the prop department at the Sferisterio Macerata Opera Festival and assisting the set designer Hans Georg Schafer she installs her first professional set in the Croatian National Theater (HNK) in Split in 1998 (The Twelfth Night directed by Eduard Miller).

Since then she has worked in all major Croatian theatres and the Bucharest National Opera, Subotica National Theatre, Croatian National Theatre and National Theatre, both in Mostar and Komedija Theatre in Skopje. She is the author of more than a hundred sets for operas, contemporary and classical plays, ballets and children’s plays on which she worked with numerous directors (Morana Dolenc, Ivica Boban, Nenni Delmestre, Dora Ruzdjak Podolski, Ivan Leo Lemo, Dario Harjacek, Paolo Magelli, Ozren Prohic, Kresimir Dolencic, Fabio Sparvoli, Lawrence Kiiru...). She has been nominated for the Croatian Actor Awards (Croatian Theatre Oscar) three times.

Awards:

the best set design at the Naj Naj Naj festival of the Firebird Theatre in Zagreb for the play Vlado and Tanja in 2001.

Peristil at the Split Summer Festival for the set of Oedipus Rex/ Symphony of Psalms and Roberto Zucco in 2002.

Zlatni Smijeh, special recognition for the set design of Whores, at Days of Satire, Zagreb in 2007.

Marul at Days of Marulic for the set of Before the Dream in 2010.

Rudolf Bunk biannual award of Croatian National Theatre in Split for the best artistic achievements in set design in 2012.

Radovan Marusic at the XVIII festival of Bosnia and Herzegovina drama Zenica for the play Logorijada in 2019.

Since 2014 she has been working as an assistant professor to Marin Gozze at the course “set design” at the Arts Academy in Split. She is the member of the Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts (ULUPUH) and the Croatian Freelance Artist Association. She currently lives in Split.
