As soon as the epidemiological measures allowed it, the Opera & Theatre Madlenianum started working on a new musical, the contemporary love story The Last Five Years by the New York writer and composer Jason Robert Brown. The musical about a love affair and marriage that lasted for five years, directed by Robert Boskovic, under the conducting baton of Vesna Souc and choreographed by Milica Cerovic, is being daily diligently prepared by Branislava Podrumac, Zarko Stepanov, Mina Gligoric and Dimitrije Cincar Kostic. The part of the Team of Authors are also Vesna Rezic, a set designer, Snezana Pesic, a costume designer, Srdjan Jovanovic, a lighting designer and Dusan Arsikin, a sound designer, while 3D mapping, holograms and projections are done by Matej Bodrusic and Aleksandar Rapajic. The story follows Jamie, a young, talented, Jewish writer who falls in love with Cathy, an actress, struggling to build her career. Their love story, from dating, marriage, rows and splitting up, over a five-year period, is made as music "deconstruction" of a love relationship. All Cathy’s songs begin with the end of their marriage and go back to the period of love, while Jamie's songs begin when they start a relationship and go towards the end of the marriage, and they "meet" at the moment of the proposal. The musical is presented in arrangement with the Music Theatre International (Europe) Limited: www.mtishows.eu. It will be premiered on the Large Stage of Madlenianum on May 15, with the first revival on May 16.

Just before the beginning of the eighteenth festival edition, two performances of Godani’s piece were announced at the Opera Madlenianum on September 24th and 25th, starting at 20h. All tickets that were issued until March 1st, 2021 when the sale stopped – are valid for the first date, September 24th, and it is not necessary to change them. The seats in the Opera Madlenianum’s hall are arranged according to the same price categories as in the Sava Center, and according to the similar seating scheme.

At the same time, on March 1st this year the possibility of further refund for Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company’s show tickets was suspended. Saved tickets are valid for the performance on September 24th, or they can be exchanged for another Festival’s show until June 1st 2021.

Zbog svakodnevnog porasta broja novozaraženih korona virusom i vraćanja Srbije na crvenu listu, Drezden Frankfurt kompanija igre je ponovo odložila svoj dolazak u Beograd.

Umesto 24. i 25. septembra, novi datumi su: 4. i 5. decembar, 2021., a mesto je Opera Madlenianum.

Organizatori Beogradskog festivala igre i čelnici renomirane državne baletske trupe sa sedištem u Drezdenu i Frankfurtu, smatraju da je odlaganje jedino ispravno i ujedno najodgovornije rešenje koje mogu zajednički da ponude publici, poštujući svakog gledaoca, a posebno Beograđane i ljubitelje umetničke igre koji skoro dve godine čuvaju svoje karte za nastup ovog ansambla. Takođe podsećaju da je strah igrača i publike neminovan u uslovima u kojima se broj zaraženih alarmantno povećava.

Karte kupljene na blagajni Sava Centra mogu se iskoristiti za izvođenje 04. decembra.
Karte kupljene na biletarnici Madlenianuma za 25. septembar, se mogu iskoristiti za izvođenje 05. decembra.
